A Lion in the night..

A Lion in the Night is a book written by Pamela Allen.

I bought it a few years ago for my son who was 2 at the time.

Jiedyn loved it and asked me to read it over and over again.

At 3 he memorised the whole book.

When Nevaeh came she too used to love me reading it.

Jiedyn is now eight.

Last night he read it to me.

Actually read it.

There I was getting caught in a moment again..

He read it exactly how I did to him once.

Like he remembered.

It was beautiful.

Worth Mentioning..

The Circus is in Town..

Yesterday afternoon the kids and I went to the circus.
This was Jiedyn's second time and Nevaeh's first.
Jie went to his first circus when he was two.
Which was also Circus Royale in 2007.
So here is how it all went down..

We got lost.
Yep.
First of all we got lost.
Then I called a Taxi.
Then I stressed we weren't going to make it on time.
But we did.
We picked up our pre-purchased VIP front row tickets!!
And even had time to ride the tea cups..

 God's good like that!!
Although I stress and worry God had a plan.
Ad boy did He come through..
Before the show we grabbed a snow cone.
We were also advised that no photographs were aloud to be taken.
So away went my camera.
The kids watched with amazement at the first performance.
It was a balancing act.
I had my hands over my mouth.
My heart in my throat.
It was nothing short of amazing..
The Juggling boys were next.
These guys were good.
Nevaeh's favorite was the beautiful Contortionist.
She was gleaming and glittery flying high above us.
You could see how much she loved her job.
There were dog acts, geese, camels, ponys and even cows.
I loved them all.
Jie loved the cowboy.
But most of all the clown whom wet us at one point.
In there somewhere was a short interval.
Where we took some time to grab a drink and some pop corn.
And a snap shot or two..

I found the yo-yo performance a bit boring and long.
I loved the clowns.
We all did.
The fiery acts had the kids on the edge of their seat.
And the girl hanging by her head while spinning had me on the edge of mine.
A few of the acts I remembered from last time.
But almost all of it were things I'd never seen before in my life.
Including a man whom could fit his whole body into a bottle.
I was utterly and completely speechless.
After hearing of a fall the night before of one of the girls in the motor bike performance I was literally freaking out about that act.
But yet again I was blown away.
Everyone worked so well together and I could see the trust they had for each other.
The night concluded with all the performers circling the ring.
I loved that too.
How they all came together and waved goodbye.
After the show we waited to get a photo with Nevaehs favorite performer.
I snapped a few more photos and we called a taxi to take us out for dinner.

All in all it was an amazing night.
We met some amazing people and had a great time.
Jiedyn was raving about the cowboy afterward.
Nevaeh spoke to her father on the phone and was laughing between breaths while trying to tell him about the clowns balloon act.
He didn't understand a word.
I thought that was cute.
At bedtime I heard Jie laughing to himself.
I asked what he was laughing at..
"I just cant stop thinking about the clowns" he replied.
And with that I thanked God for our night together.
Thanks Circus Royale for your visit to our home town.
Safe travels and please hurry back..

**Sorry that I haven't gone into more detail with the acts individually. I think that seeing is believing. I didn't want to give too much away to people whom are yet to see the show. Book tickets guys. Take the kids. I saw oldies in the audience almost falling off their seats in laughter. It really is that amazing!!**

Phrases I've Googled this last week..

As most of you are aware, the kids and I have been home sick for this past week. We have been out of our home only two times this week. Once to do shopping and again today for lunch, so I think it's safe to say that we're all slowly going insane!!

Jie has been begging to go to school and although he is fully not better he has to go back. He's missing out on so much already..

So because we havent been out of the house and have had very little contact with the world outside our four walls I have had to rely a lot on Google for answers to the tough questions.

Here are some things I have searched this past week..

What video settings does the Nikkon D5000 need to be on for Instagram?
Yes, I cannot work this out and Google wasnt very helpful. If you know someone who knows someone who knows how I can successfuly transfer videos taken on my Nikkon d5000 onto my Instgram please pass on my details.. I'm not winning with this one!

Kids Encyclopedia
The other day the kids were driving me nuts with questions about animals. Gorillas in particular. While I do know a little but about gorillas their questions were bugging me. What do they eat? How much do they eat? Do they eat three times a day?.. So I found the Encyclopedia Britanica website and signed us up! We were all pretty excited and spent about an hour finding out cool facts about Gorillas.

Dominos Online
Oh yes she did!

Focus on the Family
I listened to segment about co-parenting last week on the radio and wanted to know more. I feel like Nevaeh is in the middle of mine and my husbands seperation and issues with each other constantly. I found some great ways to co parent which I have already put in place. I have also purchased "Co-Parenting Works!" by Tammy G. Daughtry and two other books..

Garlic rice recipe
And I nailed it!!

Lemon, ginger and honey tea recipe
Yet to master this one..

How to stop coughing at night
No conclusion..

How to unblock your ear
My ear is still blocked.. 3 days and counting..

While Google did answer all of these questions and more, some of its answers didn't work for me..

What was the last three things you asked Google?

Caught in a moment..

We have a new favorite family movie at the moment.

More so my favorite, but the kids put it on now because they know I love it.

Last week, after dinner I requested that we watch it and the whole movie through, the three of us snuggled on the couch with blankets and pillows. It was squishy with the cats too but it made me smile as I got caught in the moment. At the end of the movie, as the credits rolled, we all got up to dance.

This was the song.

It was fun, and silly and had us all smiley and busting our moves..

Today, after our chores, Jie surprised me by putting it on again. Like I have always said, all kids really want to do is make you happy.. This was a prime example. So I sat down (even though I had a million and one other things to do) and watched it. At the end, as the credits rolled I couldn't help myself. I had to get up and dance and Jie actually waited for it.

He knows him Mama so well.

A Peaceful Piece

Tonight I am just enjoying the peace and quiet..

The dishes are not done..

The house is not tidy..

The washing is not finished..

The vacuum has not been touched today..

My room is still messy..

But..

 I am at peace..

My kids are tucked up nice, cosy and warm..

The cats are beside me..

And I am enjoying the first coffee I've had in weeks..

While reading "When Heaven Invades Earth" by Bill Johnson..
