Photo of the day {Thursday}

I am astounded at the amount of support I am receiving from my family and friends as the kids and I are doing it tough. This afternoon Jie got off the bus from school and was so wanting to go to the school carnival. Me still being sick explained that it most likely wouldn't happen. I didn't know any parents of his friends and Jie had been looking forward to the event all week. He asked me to ask his Dad or Uncle Al to take him. His Dad, my husband was way out of the question but my brother was worth a try. I called him as the kids and I walked home and he said he would call me back to let us know. Jie was excited, he got home and got dressed for the night out with his Uncle even though it wasn't clear wether or not he was going or not. About an hour later it was all locked in and Jie couldn't wait to get out the door.

While they were gone I called my Dad who has been so amazing these last few days. He assured me that everything was going to be okay, and that he is so going to support me through it all. Nevaeh and I invited a friend around for tea. We listened to music, danced around completely careless.

The photo of today above is of Bel and Jie on the Dodgem Cars tonight. I love his face! So good to see him enjoying his night and his first time driving. I so wish I could have been there but this photo and that face is more than enough validation that he had a fabulous night!

Photo of the day {Wednesday}

Tonight Nevaeh was given her very own knife to use. She learned how to hold it, and watched her mum and her big brother before slicing her chicken parma to perfection! Jiedyn and I watched as she got better and better. I noticed too that she is a fast learner, she is eagar and willing to give anything a try. As long as 'anything' doesn't consist of aeroplanes or tattoos I'm excited about her milestones to come!

Photo of the day {Tuesday}

When your as sick as I have been yesterday and today, it's so easy to drift through the day without any real appreciation of the little things going on in your home. Most of the day I spent beside my miss resting as she watched her favorite disney movies. After school Jiedyn came home and after getting into trouble for being disobedient he grabbed his little sister's hand and said. "Mums sick and grumpy, let's go play!" I didn't argue, the night before the kids mucked around at bedtime knowing I didn't have the energy to battle them. Good thing a friend stepped in to encourage them to honor their mum, it took just a few minutes for them both to fall asleep.

Tonight I captured our photo of today, Jie helping to broaden Nevaehs vocabulary and also encouraging her to count with him. I am so blessed to have two children with such an eagerness to learn. Nevaeh, three, can already say her full abc's. I didn't teach her, but I bet you can guess who did!!

Home Made Paint

This morning while taking my son to the school bus stop a beautiful neighbor came out of her home and greeted us at her fence with a big plastic bag full of plain white paper. Nevaeh immediately said "I want to do some painting". I can't recall the last time we did some painting, maybe over the Christmas holiday period, but one thing was sure.. It's been too long for this three and thriving angel.

When I got home, I got to work.

Flour + Water + Food Coloring

And who says you need paint brushes to paint?
A toothbrush is just as fun!

Friday Night [Fun]draiser..

Oh. My. Goodness.
 What a night.
 A community coming together to raise money for a little boy in a whole other country suffering from a rare condition. A Picnic, a dance and an auction all in one put on by a beautiful lady who felt the need to help raise money for this little boy named Ayden! What an amazing idea and complete success!!

Highlights of tonight were:

The amazing home-made lasagna for dinner at our friend Penny's house.
Dancing and twirling with Nevaeh on the dance floor. (First night out dancing together)
Doing the nut-bush and creating a conga line while singing locomotion.
Letting my hair down.
A beautiful new friend for Nevaeh.
Walking home, under the stars.

I hope and pray that the money raised tonight will cover some medical expences for this little guy needing to get to Austria from South Africa for treatment. I cannot wait to hear how much was actually raised to support him and his family. What an absolute honor to be a part of something so special. What an awesome group of people to openly give to the needs of a little boy, in another country whom they have never met.
I'm  just so blown away!

Photo of my life:

Not knowing which direction to take right now.
But loving the journey.
I guess we all get this way sometimes.

I have been on centrelink for the past seven years raising and enjoying my children. I haven't missed a "first" yet and am both thankful and grateful for it!! I'm not rich, I barely scrape through but one day, not too far away, I too will join the workforce so that other mothers will also get the same opportunity or should I say privileges that I have had!! My Dad and I always joke about how although I dont live at home, he still supports me. With his taxes per year he supports me and some.. My kids are being raised by me, their mother, and yes that in itself is lacking if you see some of the little turds my son now goes to school with.. I am a proud stay at home Mum and indigenous Australian, what an honor it is to live in a country which allows you to be a Mummy..

 I feel so fortunate for the opportunity to watch my kids grow up, watch their personalities and interests change and to be able to teach them things like manners, sharing, how to be responsible and respectful. I have always provided a well kept home for them, spent one-on-one time with each of them but most of all I encourage them to be their own people, to give freely, to live lovingly and to be grateful for the things they have.

When Jie started school last year, things changed remarkably. The hours spent to raise my child were washed over with the filth of school yard bullies and more authority figures. I was no longer a part of who he was becoming and he started overruling me with things he was being taught at school. I spend all of 4 hours with him a day and I feel myself missing him. I dont know how parents do it.

Nevaeh is three. A very mature three. Next year she will start her adventure into the education system and start kinder. This is the last year I will have with her before most of her day hours too will be filled with music and  friendships and playing and new adventures. Only one more year to encourage her to be what I would consider to be a respectful child.

On top of all that, I am considering working for the first time since I was 15.
Am I crazy?
What am I thinking?

Pros and Cons please..

In the present..

Yes, here I am, here and now, on planet earth. Some things are just so hard to comprehend.. Do you ever sit back and look at the big picture? I do and I think I am so blessed to be alive - living!

Valentines day is just a few days away now, and while my husband and I have broken up love is not lacking in my life.

I have two beautiful children, a dad, a brother a sister and a handful of friends who all love and look up to me.

But above all that I have Jesus! And because he is so awesome and loves me so so much, he has given to me the one thing I have been searching for my whole entire life.. A family!

I'm proud to announce to my friends, followers, family and to the world that I have finally found a place in this world to belong, to be accepted and loved.. This place is for me, for my children, for my grandchildren and all the generations to come.

We have found our forever after at CityWest Church Melton.

A peaceful afternoon..

Today , after school, the kids and I went with my brother for a swim. A few days before he came across a beautiful goose and took photos to show me. Today we got to see this marvelous creature as well as swim only meters away from it..

At the end of our swim, the kids and I went to pose for a few photos before we were interrupted by a whirring dragonfly which, by the photo below, must have caught all of our eyes before the photo of all three of us..

 It was an amazingly peaceful afternoon..
